Jesus Sees Us (Great Easter Gift)

*Disclosure (in accordance with the FTC’s 16 CFR, Part 255: “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising”): Many thanks to Propeller Consulting, LLC for providing this prize for the giveaway. About the doll:
Appropriate for Ages 2-6+

How do you introduce your child to Jesus?

Imagine your children took the same interest and wonder in Jesus and the Christian message as they did in princesses, fairies, and elves… Jesus Sees Us is a packaged Jesus Christ doll that has the same comforting power as a child’s favorite toy or blanket, but is rooted in lessons that last a lifetime. Children respond to the comfort of tangible items when they are young, so why not make that item Jesus and the comfort He gives to ignite their faith? The accompanying book is a tool to assist you in engaging your child and starting the conversation about Jesus’ teachings.

By the time a child turns three years old, he or she already has the capability to relate to Jesus. Children can understand that, like them, Jesus was a baby with parents who loved Him. They can understand that Jesus grew up to be a man who loved everyone and taught people to do the same. Children become excited and inquisitive when they can master these facts, ultimately making them more open to deeper conversations and ideas about faith.

The Jesus Sees Us doll is an integral part of fostering your child’s initial introduction to Jesus.
Even though we talk to our children about Jesus or take them to Sunday services, they are not always able to understand the importance of the Christian message. Jesus Sees Us is a tool that makes Jesus, His teachings, and the concept of faith both relatable and positive to young children by introducing Him as the loving and forgiving presence in our lives. The doll becomes the tangible connection to the stories and lessons in the book. He is the touchable source of comfort that a child can relate to. The Jesus Sees Us doll has a soft body and a warm, welcoming face. His arms and hands are open, inviting your child to hold him, engage with him, and pray with him. The Jesus Sees Us doll allows your child to “play out” the valuable and timeless lessons of the Bible.

Texas K-9 Unit Series Books 1-3: Tracking Justice\Detection Mission\Guard Duty (Available at Amazon)

Love Inspired Suspense authors Shirlee McCoy, Margaret Daley and Sharon Dunn will get your pulse racing with tales of Texas cops and their loyal K-9 dogs tracking down a crime ring. Enjoy three action-packed Texas K-9 Unit romantic suspense novels in one box set! When a boy goes missing from his bedroom, a police detective must assure a desperate single mother that he and his trusty bloodhound will find her son. A woman with amnesia has to rely on an officer and his border collie to stay alive when she can't remember who tried to kill her. An FBI agent is called in to protect a single mother when the rookie K-9 officer witnesses a murder and becomes the killer's target.

About the authors:

Shirlee McCoy

Shirlee McCoy has always loved making up stories. As a child she daydreamed elaborate tales in which she was the heroine — gutsy, strong and invincible. Though she soon grew out of her superhero fantasies, her love for storytelling never diminished. Shirlee knew early that she wanted to write inspirational fiction and began writing her first novel when she was a teenager. Still, it wasn't until her third son was born that she truly began pursuing her dream of being published. Three years later she sold her first book. Now a busy mother of four, Shirlee is a homeschool mom by day and an inspirational author by night. She and her husband and children live in Maryland and share their home with a dog and a guinea pig.

Margaret Daley

Margaret has been writing for over 35 years. She started writing in the late 1970s because she wanted to see if she could put a whole story down on paper. That book is still in the drawer and will never see the light of day. But she was able to finish a book, which was her goal. She loved teaching and working with students with special needs, and recently retired from teaching to write full-time. When she isn't working, she loves to read, travel, and go to lunch and a movie with a friend. She and her husband, Mike, to whom she has been married for over 40 years live in Tulsa. Besides teaching and writing, she is also a mother of one. Her son, Shaun, is married with four daughters.

Sharon Dunn

Sharon Dunn first fell in love with mystery and suspense about the time she read Nancy Drew mysteries in the fifth grade. Her first book in the Ruby Taylor mysteries Romance Rustlers and Thunderbird Thieves was a finalist for the Romantic Times Inspirational Book of the Year. The second book in that series Sassy Cinderella and the Valiant Vigilante was voted Book of the Year by American Christian Fiction Writers. Her hobbies include reading, working out, hiking, trying to find things around the house and making pets out of the dust bunnies under the furniture. Before she started writing, she used to sew. Now she just collects fabric and patterns and fantasizes about projects. After nearly twenty seven years of marriage, Sharon lost her beloved husband in 2014. She lives with her three nearly grown children, two cats and a nervous border collie named Bart.

My Review:
I really enjoyed the first book so far. I am late with this review but am glad I waited to finish the book. I do have the second and third and am getting started on them as well. I can't wait to start the second one. I really like books that feature animals in them especially dogs. Making them k-9 police dogs just made me even happier. This is a great series so far! Corn Thins Review

*Disclosure: I was provided complimentary samples in order to facilitate my review. These are my opinions and experiences and yours may differ. Post may contain affiliate links.*

Corn Thins are made by a company called Real Foods. They are crispy little thin snacks made from popped corn and come in different flavors. I was sent a good variety to try out.

I was sent some organic and some not. All flavors are GMO free. I was sent flax and soy, sesame, tasty cheese, multigrain, wholegrain, and original. I had no favorite because they are all really good. These make great snacks and can even be used fr lunches. I decided to put some tuna salad on a few for lunches. Even my daughter liked them.

They are just the right size for a light lunch with tuna. They are very crispy and full of flavor too. These are one of my favorite snacks now! If you would like to learn more and connect with the company please use the links below.

Emmy's Organics Review

*Disclosure: I was provided complimentary samples in order to facilitate my review. These are my opinions and experiences and yours may differ. Post may contain affiliate links.*

Emmy's Organics is a company that makes organic macaroons. They are offered in a wide variety of flavors:
  • Chai spice
  • Chocolate chili
  • Chocolate chip
  • Chocolate orange
  • Coconut vanilla
  • Dark cacao
  • Lemon ginger
  • Mint chip
  • Mocha
I was sent a few flavors to try out.

I was a huge fan of the coconut vanilla. They were all yummy though. They have a coconut flavor but it is not too overwhelming. The macaroons made great desert or even afternoon snacks. I am really trying to get my family to eat more organic and am so happy that even macaroons can now be found organic. These are even gluten free. We all really enjoyed them! You can learn more and connect with the company using the links below.

Nighttime Lullabies Book Review/Giveaway

*Disclosure: I am a Tommy Nelson Mommy and was provided complimentary books to facilitate my review. These are my experiences and opinions yours may differ.*

I am not much of a singer only because I am not good at it. My daughter loves music and singing though. I do sometimes sing her a little lullaby before bed. Nighttime Lullabies is a big help! It has a lot of lullabies to sing to your child. You can choose one a night and the book will last a while. The great part is that there is even a prayer after the lullaby. It also has a Bible verse before you start the lullaby.
I have reviewed a few Really Wooly books and this one is no different. There are great illustrations and it is written very well. My daughter really loves the animals in the books. The sheep and owl are her favorite. You can enter below to win your own copy or visit Really Wooly Nighttime Lullabies website to buy it and learn more about the book. Good luck!

Spring Cleaning With A Toddler

I have had the week off of school for Spring break and what did I do? I cleaned the apartment up! School takes up a lot of my time and it is hard to get the deep cleaning done. I decided to let Christine help me and we got a lot of Spring cleaning done. I am here to share a few tips on getting the cleaning done and doing it with a toddler/preschooler. I don't like calling her a preschooler because she is not quite there yet.

Tip #1:  Make a schedule
Write out a list of what deep cleaning needs done. Then you should pick a day to work on each area that needs cleaned. You may be able to get more than one area done a day depending on size and time you have available.

Tip #2: Clean bathrooms
When I say clean bathrooms I mean do the floors, sinks, tubs. shower curtains, and even mirrors and lighting. Christine was able to help out by moving everything off of the counter while I wiped down.

The left is before the right is after. I organized and got rid of old stuff. I think it looks much better and there is now more counter space. It will not stay like this for long because my husband does not like to put his things back.

Tip #3: Clean each bedroom
When doing bedrooms do not forget about dressers and closets with last seasons clothes in them. In Colorado I will hang on to a few long sleeve items because we could still get snow or really cold weather.

I need to go through my closet and get rid of things that do not fit anymore. I also plan to organize it better and get rid of some of that stuff on the floor. We have a huge walk in closet so all kinds of stuff gets thrown in there. Christine can help by going through her closet and also her dresser. She can take it all out and we will sort it out.

Tip #4: Clean living room
I dusted all of the pictures and wiped down the entertainment center. In out apartment we have a couple built in book shelves that Christine helped me wipe and organize. We did get rid of a lot of books and other items we no longer needed.

Tip #5: Clean kitchen
We have a smaller kitchen but there is a lot to clean. When you do your kitchen do not forget the pantry. Go through all the cupboards and kids can help take items out and sort. We found any overly expired items and threw them out. We also made a donate pile of things we will not use but have accumulated somehow.
I cleared off counters and wiped them down and next I will tackle the refrigerator. It needs to be wiped down and food thrown out.

I also have a weekly cleaning list that I use. I like to vacuum twice a week or as needed. I mop floors once a week or as needed along with sweeping them. I wipe counters down once a week or as needed. Depending on how much school I have to do will decide what I get cleaned.

How do you stay on top of cleaning?

Spring Flower Craft Guest Post

My readers know I am not the craftiest person ever. I decided to ask a friend on Facebook (who is an awesome crafter) to write out a cute Spring craft for me. She agreed and I am now sharing it with you all. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did!

Hey! So I don't know about anyone else, but seeing the flowers for sale again when I go to the store makes me happy! So I decided to come up with this craft. Straight flash back to my childhood. You'll see why.

What you need:
A piece of construction paper (I picked brown)
Another piece for the center of your flowers (I picked yellow)
Glue stick
A package of tissue paper found in the gift wrap section of the dollar store.

First you will need to cut three circles out of the paper you chose for the centers of your flowers. Glue them down so they alternate up and down. This gives you plenty of room to create around each circle.

Once you've done that, cut your tissue paper while all of the colors are stacked on top of each other. Cut it the long way all the way to the end. Then turn it and cut little squares.

Next, draw your glue around the circle wherever you want "pedals" to go! The possibilities here are endless! Then.. (here we go...flashback!) wrap a little square of tissue paper around your pencil and then squish it down onto where you put your glue. (Bringing back any memories??)

And that's it!! We chose to glue some green down for stems and do a little leaf. Let your children use their imaginations and use all of the colors. Get creative with where you draw the glue! Maybe even make one big flower! This is very simple, and will keep your child entertained for quite a while.. Which is always a plus!!

Happy crafting!!

Confessions of a Prodigal Son Movie Review

*Disclosure: I was provided complimentary samples in order to facilitate my review. These are my opinions and experiences and yours may differ. Post may contain affiliate links.*

About the movie: (Taken directly from movie website)

Confessions of a Prodigal Son is a modern-day retelling of the Prodigal Son story that Jesus famously told. It is a coming-of-age tale following Sean (Nathan Clarkson) as he rebels and leaves his home, family and father (Kevin Sorbo) to figure out life on his own. Two years later--while still on the journey to find life's answers--Sean suddenly finds himself questioning everything he thought he knew as he is confronted by a professor (Darwin Harris) who challenges Sean to see his life as a story; a best friend (Azel James) walking a dangerous path; and a strong and beautiful young woman (Rachael Lee) who is on her own journey to answers. Each one of these elements causes Sean to greater examine the choices he is making. The story is one of drama, laughter, relationships, faith, and redemption, ultimately asking the question "Can broken stories have happy endings?"

My Review:
Wow! This was an eye opening movie with a great story behind it. It was very well written and hits home. Everyone has made horrible choices in their lives but most people still end up happy. I thank God that I am where I am today. With choices I have made I should not even be here. This movie really hits on God giving second chances and being able to change where your life is headed. It is a really great movie. Please see the trailer below and visit Confessions of a Prodigal son website to learn more about the movie.

Fun at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

*This is not a sponsored post we just had fun*

Last weekend we got to visit a local zoo in Colorado Springs called Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. It was a lot of fun and a great way to get some family time in. Thankfully the weather was wonderful on the day we went. We walked around for 3 hours or so and had a blast. Enjoy the pictures!

Has your family gotten to go to the zoo yet this year?
