So Not Okay Book Review/Giveaway

*Disclosure: I am a Tommy Nelson Mommy and was provided complimentary books to facilitate my review. These are my experiences and opinions yours may differ.*

When I saw this book being offered I knew I wanted to read it. I was bullied as a child and it was hard to go to school daily. I think it is great that author Nancy Rue wrote a series on bullying. So Not Okay is the first book in the Mean Girl Makeover series. This book is from the point of view of the bystander.

The book follows Tori  Taylor a sixth grade student. She knows who to avoid and who to be friends with. A new girl named Ginger comes to school and the bully Kylie starts to pick on her. Tori is pretty happy because it is not her. She does start to feel guilty though and she tries to be nice to Ginger. Soon though Kylie starts to bully them both. Will Tori try to stay with Ginger or try to avoid her to stop the bullying?

This book is written for girls ages 8 to 12. I enjoyed the book a lot even as an adult. It is something that I would let my daughter read when she is old enough. I plan to read the whole series and will review them all.
You can learn more about the book at Tommy Nelson online. If you would like to win a copy for yourself or your twee/teen you can enter below.
Good luck!

Yes, we have discussed it. They have been bullied before so they know what it is like and they know what to do in that situation where they are being bullied.

  2. I was the target of bullying so I try to help my daughter (7) what is the truth about herself, and not what others say. I also know she could easily be the bully, I try to remind her every day to "fill others bucket"and not focus on herself.
